Storm Darragh, the fourth named storm to hit the UK this season, is set to bring up to 80 mph winds, snow, and significant rainfall from today through to Sunday. Moderate levels of impacts are most likely, although higher levels of impacts can’t be ruled out.

The south of the country is due to be most highly affected, with widespread gusts of around 50-60 mph across southern and central England and Wales. The strongest gusts of up to 80 mph on exposed coasts are expected from Saturday morning into Saturday afternoon, with places further East experiencing their peak gusts later in the day. Given the forecast levels of rain (and snow in Scotland), 130 flood warnings are in place.

The Met Office has warned of travel disruption with difficult driving conditions and a potential threat to life.
